Artist Residencies

There are times when a person may want to have the best of both worlds. What those two worlds inhabit completely depends on that person’s perspective. Since this is a common tug-of-war between the multiple combinations of wants, many organizations have already started to put pieces together for us as artists! They’ve tried to give us the best of both worlds by offering artist residencies. Ever heard of em?

Some of these gratitude-worthy Artist Residencies are:

Djerassi Resident Artists Program

yield

“The mission of the Djerassi Resident Artists Program is to support and enhance the creativity of artists by providing uninterrupted time for work, reflection, and collegial interaction in a setting of great natural beauty, and to preserve the land on which the Program is situated.”

Situated on the outskirts of the busy city hubs of California, this artist residency provides it’s supporters with the combination of the love of art, along with a mini get away!

Wave Hill

“Wave Hill is a 28-acre public garden and cultural center in the Bronx overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades. Its mission is to celebrate the artistry and legacy of its gardens and landscapes, to preserve its magnificent views, and to explore human connections to the natural world through programs in horticulture, education and the arts.”

Wave Hill, on the other hand, cultivates the love of art with nature together!

& Our Starry Night Exposure Program

“Starry Night Retreat’s AIR program provides artists, writers, and researchers with the opportunity to live and work as part of a small, creative community. The AIR program runs year-round and features writers, filmmakers, visual artists, and researchers of all disciplines. The primary goal of the program is to support self-directed artists in the creation of new work while offering an environment that promotes self-reflection as well as risk-taking, experimentation, and innovation in art in the quiet, rustic environment of southern New Mexico.”

Linking not only what the other two residency programs sewed together; Starry Night helps artists to branch their wants to traveling, self-reflecting, risk-taking and exploring not only the beautiful city of Truth or Consequences, but also their ideas.

Our doors are currently open to applications, so here’s a little helping hand for our applicants: Apply Here.
