A Pool of Perspectives II

In continuation with the previous blog, here are more perspective pieces of our exposure artists:

8. Anastas Konstantinov

Reactive-butterfly-I

The unexpected resemblance of Picasso’s distorted faces, mixed with Salvador Dali’s elephants is what gives this piece its personality. Abstract as it is, it’s a style that one can’t just walk past without turning his/her head!

9. Marjan Moghaddam

Venus-and-Her-Muses-Still-for-web

Adding to the pool of perspective, Moghaddam talks about her unique methodology,

“I also use audio-triggering of various visual elements in a form of technological synesthesia, in which one media, such as sound, effects another, such as visuals. This brings an unpredictable, magical, and metaphysical dimension to the technological environment in which I work in, as an extension of a digital ontology.”

10. Karla Read

The angle of the camera, along with the expression and the black & white choice of print is what hold this photograph together. The triangular angle take your eyes directly to the girl’s face, the focal point that does the story telling. Being shy herself, the artist exclaims,

“I am always looking for a face that portrays my argument. Being extremely shy made me search for mediums to express myself in an “extroverted” society.”

11. Kelsey Shwetz

Worship

This piece is the epitome of the artist’s statement,

“My work addresses gender, sexuality and pleasure, beauty,  and biological processes unique to the female  body. I am interested in challenging oppressive and restrictive norms while normalizing experiences  and practices that are not widely represented or accepted.”

12. Jennifer Sims

I personally like this piece by her because it makes you think of a different story every time you look at it.

“Honestly, I’m endlessly fascinated with how movement doesn’t lie, how movement can say what words cannot, and letting people observe what we don’t know we reveal about ourselves.”
